Since our founding in 1940, the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children has served thousands of children from across the country and around the world. The hospital is a division of Nemours, which operates one of the nations largest health systems devoted to pediatric patient care, teaching, and research. Christiana Care fulfills a crucial role as the regional center for excellence in heart services (including cardiac surgery and coronary angioplasty), cancer treatment, women's health services, physical medicine and rehabilitation, infectious diseases, general medicine and surgery, and the state's high-intensity trauma services.
